The NHS is not your private hotel.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostAfter first hand experience of the attitude of a lot of the staff this weekend, there's just no accountability and no-one gives a toss. Time to rip it up and start again.
Dad is 81 only got one good eye. Had cataract surgery last surgery on the good eye. Turfed him out 9am friday morning practically blind. He lives alone, so of course, cant cook, cant read his tablet boxes, cant do his eye drops, cant used the phone, can hardly go to the toilet etc.
So I've been back and fore all weekend. Try to get some help. Must have argued with about 10 different people trying to get someone in to help him. Attitude you get back is not my problem, he should have stayed in hospital, more then my jobs worth.
My wifes a nurse, I know a lot of good nurses, but some of these people should be ashamed of themselves. /Rantover.

My girlfriend had been waiting 19 months and counting for a hysterectomy on the NHS, and worse she needs it for medical reasons having endometriosis and thousands of fibroids amongst other things causing complicationsSocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Try calling some private hospitals and get a quote. Much quicker and safer, in my opinion.Originally posted by MicrosoftBob View PostMy girlfriend had been waiting 19 months and counting for a hysterectomy on the NHS, and worse she needs it for medical reasons having endometriosis and thousands of fibroids amongst other things causing complicationsComment

When care is socialised, and money is tight, old people are implicitly deemed to have a duty to die.Comment

It's undoubtedly better if you go private, but that's because you're part of a small number that go private. If everything was privatised chances are we'd all end up with the same crap service, unless you were prepared to pay extra for a "premium" service. Healthcare is like the utilities or supermarkets: they're never going to be short of customers. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment
