Syria regularly has droughts, it's in the Middle East eg the 1990's.

Wheat production has been at record production since the 1990's and in any case Agriculture is only 16% of Syria's economy.

I'm afraid these arguments that climate change caused the uprising don't really add up.

There isn't an uprising because wheat production is "slightly down" on the bumper harvests of the early 2000's.

If a migrating bird stopped to sharpen it's beak on Stonehenge, then flew south, then his descendants did the same,
Stonehenge would be ground to sand before the Greenland ice melted. And that's according to the IPCC figures

It is obviously the heat that brings out all the nutters - though Australia seems to have got off lightly . I suggest that we send all the climate change zealots off to live on Pluto where they can enjoy a heat free existence

It was the worst drought on record, 1.5m people lost their livelihoods, many of them were forced to emigrate to the cities.

pj, there is a thread of yours, from a few years ago, that you have not edited. Please sort that out right now.

Indeed, however London would be inundated rather earlier.

Eight out of the ten largest cities are coastal.
