Of course we would, because it's been such a success in the US of A hasn't it, even with an infrastructure that supports it i.e. wide open plains and wide empty highways.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostGet on with fracking and we'd have oodles of gas.
With views like that I'm surprised you're not Energy Minister.. Oh, wait..

This Govt. seems hell bent on destroying our basic "strategic" industries i.e. Steel (e.g Redcar), Coal (e.g. Ferrybridge C) and it makes you wonder what's behind it.
Seems to me if in 20, 30, 50 years things ever get very nasty with a Cold War II, we'll be in a brilliant situation to do sweet FA. Can't produce anything, China can remote into our (their) nuclear power plants and shut them down/send them to meltdown.
We should be doing these things ourselves, even if it costs more. Things have a value not just a cost. What happened to the 'Great' in Britain?

They've drastically cut their imports of coal and oil and are on target to become a net exporter. Is that a failure?Originally posted by rl4engc View PostOf course we would, because it's been such a success in the US of A hasn't it, even with an infrastructure that supports it i.e. wide open plains and wide empty highways.

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment
