Syria regularly has droughts, it's in the Middle East eg the 1990's.Originally posted by pjclarke View PostYes, the drought seems to be over. That will help.
Wheat production has been at record production since the 1990's and in any case Agriculture is only 16% of Syria's economy.
I'm afraid these arguments that climate change caused the uprising don't really add up.
There isn't an uprising because wheat production is "slightly down" on the bumper harvests of the early 2000's.Last edited by BlasterBates; 25 November 2015, 09:56.I'm alright JackComment

Stonehenge would be ground to sand before the Greenland ice melted. And that's according to the IPCC figures(\__/)

It is obviously the heat that brings out all the nutters - though Australia seems to have got off lightly . I suggest that we send all the climate change zealots off to live on Pluto where they can enjoy a heat free existence

It was the worst drought on record, 1.5m people lost their livelihoods, many of them were forced to emigrate to the cities.Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostSyria regularly has droughts, it's in the Middle East eg the 1990's.
