When I first started contracting I would scattergun apply. Get several interviews, mess a few up then finally get a role.
The one I just accepted was the only application I bothered firing off and the agent actually called me about it rather than via the usual boards.
I wonder if my behaviour has become more risky or more confident, as I had absolutely no backup if this didn't come in. The war chest is depleted with the home move and recent Spanish coma shenanigans.
In recent years I have tended to get the first role I interviewed for. Not sure if I have just got better at interviewing or not.
How does the panel tend to get on? Do you get most roles you go for? Or do you have to get a few practise interviews in first?
