Well not exactly "told", yet. But this is how it starts, with honeyed words about encouragement and incentives.

Been saying for ages that the way things are going, in a few years property rights will go out of the window and the Government will be organising in a massive way exactly where people live.

If you are single, or a couple cogging on, and living in a nice house you own outright, don't be surprised if you are forced into a pokey high-rise flat to make way for a young family (probably of immigrants)

There is "No such thing as taxpayers
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

      1. Kill them
      2. Build more houses
      3. Property taxes - 100% on second homes
      4. Rental income taxed at 100% - no expenses allowed
      5. UK property to be owned by UK passport holders
      6. Send immigrants home

Judging by the flotsam and jetsom I see waving British passports around whenever I pass through an airport, I can only assume that they dish them out like smarties so I don't really think this'll have much effect.

Sellup and downsize to one of those - Private Islands Magazine

At least that's what the marketing brochure would be saying, in reality those pensioners would be put on a ship and then sold to slavery

I like the principle of reviewing social housing needs. Say a family home where the kids have flown the nest and it's just a single elderly parent left. Moving them into better suited accommodation (say a 2 bed bungalow or ground floor flat) to free up the property for a new family in need makes sense to me.

Absolutely, that's fine for social housing where the occupier does not own the property. That's what the spare room subsidy is trying to encourage.

Was there anything else in the daily mail today or was that the only article?

Why though? It belongs to the single elderly person & it's no business of anyone else as it's their property & their property alone.

I'll be parking a howitzer on the lawn if they ever tried that on me
