Should mens' genitals be sliced up?

No, I think he has a valid point; the practice of male genital mutilation may not be as damaging to the individual in question on a purely physical level (fair bit more than the mosquito bite of your analogy, though) but it is widely accepted in developed countries like the US, whereas FGM is largely considered to be a barbarous practice relegated to less than developed countries and cultures. There really is no moral justification for either practice.Last edited by Zero Liability; 11 September 2015, 18:27. -
Don't disagree with that. "Moral" is all crap anyway. There really is no moral justification for either practicebloggoth

Which debate are you referring to? The one that suggests that the relatively few victims of backwater savagery at the hands of backwards & primitive mutilators suffer more?Originally posted by xoggoth View PostEffects vs statistical significance
Hmmm.
Far more people get bitten by mosquitoes than get run over. I think NF wins that debate.
Or the one that suggests that victims of mutilation at the hands of modern & enlightened cultures are ignored by the mainstream because of their sex?Comment

I do agree either operation being performed on people who can't consent are pretty repellent.
If an adult wants to lose their foreskin or have their lady bits mangled and are willing to pay for it I don't mind.Comment

Oh, I see ZL said what I was thinking already.
Although, if 'moral' is all crap, then youre in danger of passing comment on whether this mutilation stuff is 'good' or 'bad'! Be careful.Comment

I don't know what a menanazi is, but the context of the conversation is regarding non consenting physical abuse (of a particularly horrendous kind). People go to piercing places or cosmetic surgeons all the time to have bits removed. We're talking about the forcible mutilation of genitals (or anything for that matter) for no practical reason to the benefit of the abused.Originally posted by vetran View PostBecoming a MenaNazi is probably not the way to win the argument.

think femanazi. Your post is starting to sound like that. Its not "because I is a bloke".Originally posted by SpontaneousOrder View PostI don't know what a menanazi is, but the context of the conversation is regarding non consenting physical abuse (of a particularly horrendous kind). As I say if Adults choose to do it of their own free will then fine, that is entirely their problem so long as they fund all costs themselves or there is a real medical need.
However both of these activities tend to be done to children or due to significant pressure from backward cultures, that I strongly disagree with.Comment

Then substitute it for "decent way to treat someone".Originally posted by xoggoth View PostDon't disagree with that. "Moral" is all crap anyway.Comment
