    FTFY

It's like I'm dismissed out of hand for being a loser.
Just make sure you tailor your CV for each role.
This. Especially as you seem to be a bit of a Jack of all Trades.

To be frank, if I had such a poor contract conversion rate, I would be off doing something else.

          Anyway the process is

          (2) Wait for agents to ring
          (3) Start bidding war
          (4) Accept the contract that seems must interesting
          (5) When they've spent all their budget Goto 1
Either I'm very good or I carefully picked an in demand skillset.

Given what others claim the market is like I think the answer is that most contractors are tulip so good ones don't have problems getting work...

Inneresting. Why not knock us up a quick website to illustrate the point?
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

I need to reserve funds to wind the company up. As it stands, Jan 31st is my cut off date for that. Then it's JSA time.
And all this during the biggest Tory jobs boom / lowest unemployment in 500 years.

                  Chin up old chap.

He's past it now. Carter sums it up very well.

No its because you can't polish a turd and that's before the smell of failure / bulltulipness and desperation descends during the agent's phone call filter.

There was a reason why I didn't want you anywhere near anything I'm associated with (to the extent that I would kill it rather than have you anywhere near it). Would you like to guess why?
