Maybe a bunch of them came over. The first time I was there some drunk challenged me to a fight as I was leaving the field, someone tried to start on us when we went into the town to get some cash out. The bar near the site ripped us off etc. It was generally quite an aggressive, unpleasant place to be (and I grew up in an ex mining town in South Wales).
During the 50s and 60s they tried to solve the social issues in Glasgow by moving people to new developments in outlying towns. Stirling got Raploch.

I'm moving out if there is independence, most likely the states. If there is another referendum then the company is moving its registered address to Manchester.
I'm of German & Irish descent, both sides of my family had to change their names to 'fit in', I have no great love for this place.

If it was about taxes then I would move the company to Ireland.
