No sarcasm. She seems to be a pleasant and patient person. I don't agree with her politically, and neither is she a leadership contender IMO.

I agree and I bet she sounds impressive when she farts in the bath.
I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. [Christopher Hitchens]

OK glad your experience is more pleasant, one assumes that is in person, I have only watched her on the telly and had high hopes for her initially.

Please no, not that name. It is just the sort of ideological baggage denoted by the word "progressive" that the voters hate.

In private she is quite nice. I had a pleasant conversation with her at my grandfathers funeral which she attended (along with Keir Hardie and Eric Pickles to name a couple of politicians who were also there.)
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I didn't realise you were old enough to have met Keir Hardie, he died just after the First World War didn't he?

                No - September 1915

Eric Pickles was born in 1952, Diane Abbot 1953.

Sounds like an amazing funeral though.

At least I was only 3 years out, not time travelling like Darmy seems able to do.

As long as you don't play divide and rule presumably
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.
