There's a really unpleasant form of strident socialism afoot at the moment. I mean, there was a period there in the 90's when all that left wing radicalism, feminism etc looked like it had died a death but I was thinking about this the other day & I reckon it's because the kids of all the hard core 80's trots have now come of age & are ready to unleash all the bile with which they were indoctrinated by their parents.

It does, but did you see people doing this when Blair got in on 37% of the popular vote?

Reminds me of the Occupy "revolutionaries", whose only issue with the government is that it isn't pouring goodies down their throats and giving them a free ride in life. I was thinking the same thing; yes, the Tories did win on a minority of the overall vote share (partly due to the way the system works, partly because many people simply find voting pointless, maybe as a corollary of the former), however Labour's share was even lower than this, and if it had been the winning party, would you see them behaving in that manner? The party of champagne socialism lost, and within the confines of a system it has no intention of reforming, so now they "protest".

Not surprisingly they are all of an age where most don't yet have to pay for any of the state spending they demand. When/if they get decent jobs and start looking at their tax deductions they may change their minds.

And only a third voted for socialism. Actually if you include UKIP then half did vote for a Tory Government
