You're being silly now with your bias.
Most economists call a 5% unemployment rate full employment.
We (and Germany) are there or thereabouts.
The businessman who Farage visited says he flies in workers from Poland.
It's impossible to do house renovations in London or Surrey without waiting for months due to demand.

the workers I know being undercut by recent immigration have worked all their life and have frequently trained themselves to advance but they aren't brain surgeons

My point is that whatever training you desire, there are options for it.
Can you give me any specific example of "workers you know" and how they're being undercut?

There are quite a few native workers (as there are immigrants) who simply aren't up to scratch and most blame other people rather than themselves. Human nature, again.

I don't think UKIP policies are racist (although the term's meaning has been evolving the last decade and doesn't mean quite what we think it means anymore), just a lot of their members and supporters.
Savage cuts suggest they were :

        1.
        a. Not domesticated or cultivated; wild: a savage animal; the savage jungle.
        b. Not civilized; barbaric: a savage people.
        2.
        a. Vicious or merciless; brutal: a savage form of warfare.
        b. Characterized by or showing hostility; unforgiving: savage criticism.
        3. Extreme in strength or degree: savage heat.

not necessary and beneficial which after Labours expansion of the client state they were on the whole were.

If I ran up £2000 a week on the credit cards when we only earn £1000 a week and my wife chopped the credit cards up I might describe that as savage but most people would see it as reasonable. Surprised the Tories don't use that line every day.

It seems to me that a party that proposes to limit immigration will attract racists.

Just as parties that propose uncontrolled immigration will attract those that think anyone who disagrees with uncontrolled immigration is a racist.

There's a party that agrees with uncontrolled immigration?
Wow you learn something new every day.
I'm surprised most of Africa and Asia isn't here already.
Or maybe its because that party hasn't come to power yet?

Honestly vet, you really are a prize, grade-A moron.
You know that is really the reason that accounts for your relative lack of success, not the government in power?

"Extreme in strength or degree" is the one people mean, I guess.

To follow your analogy, if your credit cards were the only means you had to buy food (for some reason you had no debit card or no money in your account due to overspending) then it would revert from reasonable to savage... regardless of having overspent and being debt, you still need to eat. I think that's - roughly, within the bounds of the analogy - what critics are saying.

5.7% is a long way from 5% would have thought you would know that.

UK unemployment falls to 1.86m - BBC News

Friend who has done everything from welding, motorway work, removals and bus driving is going for interviews for shift work driving a bus and getting offered £10 an hour starting at 5am. The wages are on a race to the bottom. Benefits for him and his family would be much the same.

there are a lot of crayon users that aren't up to scratch and are kept by their spouses. They offer unpleasant opinions on people they haven't met.

"Racist" in modern use now appears to refer to in anyway referring to people's race/colour, or making comments about someone in a way that someone could construe as being due to their race colour. e.g. deliberately mis-pronouncing an Indian person's name for comic effect would be seen as racist by many young people today even if that person didn't appear to mind, and you knew damn well the person making the joke didn't think Indians were racially inferior.

                    No its not.
50% unemployment like in Greece is a long way from 5%.
                    5.7% is not.

Jack of all trades master of none?
Why on earth do you think a bus driver should necessarily get more than £10 ph?
Why doesn't he re-train in one of the trades that pays more?

Does that work both ways? If Indians take the p*ss out of the English by putting on say a posh or cockney accent?
