the loss of the track and the stig can be a good think, one one hand i pride myself of knowing why the last corner was called "Gambon" without googling (btw the first suggestion after when you type Gambon in google is "gambon corner") on the other it was getting old. So a fresh start might prove to be positive.

As for Amazon prime if you have a baby the 20% discount on nappies from Amazon Famliy (which gives you prime membership) is paying for the yearly subscription so it's a no brainer. Amazon video sucked badly up until 6 months or so, now days there is a lot more content which I myself consider free due to the above reason.
The reason for the name for the follow through is better

So we will have a Freshened Clarkson, Hammond and May on Amazon (hope they call it "Top Car") against a freshened Top Gear on BBC. Both will be good. However, on-demand TV doesn't have quite the "water cooler" impact. That is, we can't all discuss it the morning after, as people watch it on different days.

Unless Amazon can do a deal with a free-to-air channel to broadcast the program, perhaps 1 month after it goes on prime.

or 3 months later when the UK tv restriction finishes on 1/1/2017..

Given the budget amazon supposedly are providing for every episode I doubt they will care that much (Its supposedly $250m for 36 shows)...

If they release the new episodes at 8pm on Sunday maybe it will.

Jeremy Clarkson criticises Amazon’s treatment of staff as ‘overly benevolent’

Yup, he's desperate for publicity. Needs to say something controversial so people know he's still around.
He won't say anything about the Beeb, instead he's smart enough to talk about his new ClientCo so that people remember where he will be working.

Expect more of this over the next few weeks/months in the hope that people forget he was a contractor who punched one of his client's employees and is being treated like a hero for doing so.
