Maybe true. Personally, I liked the review bits and found them useful. These days, Wheeler Dealers is getting my loving attention.

I think they've probably realised that it was the challenges and in particular the overseas specials that were the popular bits, and unencumbered by any requirement for it to still be a proper car show decided to drop the rest in favour of a series of 'specials'?

Top Car
Ugh. The Grand Tour. Takes it a long way from a car review show. It hasn't been a car review show for a long time but on the other hand, yes it has. They have mixed nonsense with the occasional serous car review, which has kept things sane. If they stop reviewing cars altogether (as the name suggests), the back bone is lost. Man cannot live by fluff alone.
On the other side... rumours of problems in the Joey/Evands paradise.

"The Grand Tour" apparently.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May FINALLY announce Amazon Prime car show's name is... The Grand Tour
Crap name. I liked "Gear Knobs".

Yes, but they need the publicity (I think I mentioned this a few weeks ago)...
"Leak" possible names for the show.
Make a story imply that a court case is coming up in a foreign country.
...expect stories to come out soon about Hammond.

Gear Knobs. Not a good name.
I hope Amazon does not force JC to be politically correct. Large US corps can be like that. The Times today had a report of how executives at Sony pictures ordered large changes to the Spectre script, essentially to make it more PC & right-on. Yes Sony is Japanese but whatever.

It is to Clarkson's credit that he has enraged these pathetic little people.Originally posted by pjclarke View Post

So, the new show is Gear Knobs (probably)
Jeremy Clarkson's new Amazon Top Gear-style show could be called Gear Knobs - Telegraph
And they've registered a name: Speedbird.
Does this mean that Sabine Schmitz is going to be their racing driver?
