Why not buy Perfumes: The A-Z Guide, by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez (2009) and let the recipient decide?
I bought a previous edition of this a couple of years ago, and it's hilarious in places and very informative. Some expensive perfumes, it seems, are actually very poor both in scent and endurance.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

For a lady, got Issey Miayke a few years ago, she wears Prada these days.

I mostly wear Chanel No 5 and I'm not sixty yet.
Miss Dior's nice. Quite like Aqua di Gio too (looks like there's also now a men's one - dunno if it's the same product.)Comment
