Pub Rules At Christmas

This reminds me of a date I took a girl on many years ago where we went to a nice country pub - log fire etc. They came round at closing time and said "We're going to lock the door now, but you're welcome to stay for a couple more if you like." We took them up on it, and about 10 mins later the owner came over to us and asked if we minded if he smoked - as if I was in any position to say no! -
You wouldn't want to go to a bar in Belgium then or here for that matter.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIn the glass with the gold rim? I do like Vier.
Although what is with all these poncy glasses now, every lager has it's own weird shaped glass.
The bar staff last night apologised because they served me palm beer in a leffe glass, as they had run out of the right glasses.Comment

In a nice bar it's fine, in fact fun and I have even chosen a beer based on the glass before!Originally posted by norrahe View PostYou wouldn't want to go to a bar in Belgium then or here for that matter.

Or, you could sign it as the landlord who actually wrote this listOriginally posted by FatLazyContractor View PostIf you don't mind, I would like to take a few printouts and leave one each on the tables at my local. I will sign it as SimonMac at the bottom of the page
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

The beer companies actually claim that their beer tastes better in their own glasses. I wouldn't go that far, but it is important to get it in the right type of glass. Some are designed for fizzy lagers, some for ales and stouts etc, and they don't work well with the wrong drink in them.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIn a nice bar it's fine, in fact fun and I have even chosen a beer based on the glass before!

Newcastle Brown is supposed to be served in a Wellington glass but it still takes like tulipe and makes you ill in any glass.Originally posted by Bunk View PostThe beer companies actually claim that their beer tastes better in their own glasses. what are you on about? beer is not meant to be tasted, its meant to be gulped.Originally posted by Bunk View PostThe beer companies actually claim that their beer tastes better in their own glasses. All beer tastes pretty horrible, but the aftertaste is quite nice.
a proper beer glass would have a little device on to pinch yer nose closed while you gulp, so you definitely don't taste it.
In fact, that's such a good idea I might invent it myself, do a business plan then win the apprentice next year.(\__/)
