One of the few treats in life I give myself is a high quality turkish shave with a straight edge, just getting harder and harder to find places that still do them

had one of these whilst on holiday in turkey,

the guy was a mute and spent ten minutes rubbing his hand over my face and about 30 seconds actually shaving me,

i thought i was in a scene from Midnight Express for a minute but have to say it was the best shave i've ever had, close as anything and not cuts or rash.

Thats the key now more than blades, prepping the face for the shave, as a minimum a very hot towel to open the pours and soften the hairs

How can you get as close a shave if you only shave with the grain? That's the reason I prefer wet shaving when I can be bothered, it's so much softer. But only if I shave with the grain first, then shave the opposite way - that's the bit which makes the difference.

Gillette fusion proglide with 5 (count em!) blades

shave every morning in the shower...

only cut myself once per month on average and you can normally see 5 quite clear cuts!

BIC single blade. Multi-blade (BIC or other brands) not as good.

Gillete fusion. I use a brush and the soap in a dish thing. Shave about once a week.
