But the question really is:

Providing both parties are capable of consent and are consenting free of coercion, is it justifiable for the state to be sending people to prison?

But the reason I ask is because I assumed from your reaction that you thought that incest should be illegal. So I'm wondering, if that were the case, how you decide which kind of behaviour is acceptable and which isn't?

It's a bit more complex than that, though, cojak. What about 'public indecency'? Should consenting adults be allowed to have sex on the high street? And if not should the state have the power to throw them in prison?
