FA Cup Semi Final, Forest V Liverpool, Hillsborough. Both in same ends as following year.

1988. It was policed properly (for the times anyway).

A different police force took over "duties" the following year.

Ch Supt David Duckenfield had never commanded a match at Hillsborough before. He got the job for 15th April match on a few weeks before.

Not sure policed properly covers thousands of people turning up without tickets expecting to get in. If it were policed properly and previously they hadn't got in then they would know not to waste their time.

By that definition every disaster that's ever happened is a series of unfortunate events.

The previous year was properly policed. People still turn up for concerts, sporting events now, etc with no ticket this still happens, even though they know it's a waste of time.

So we should do away with traffic lights, traffic control, speed cameras etc. If we get a pile up with loads of people dying its ok because the drivers where at fault.

No we accept that we need traffic control to enable people to travel safety.
