life is a series of tragedies.... like litte dots one after the other. Then there are the good things....
if there is nothing I can do about it, i try to forget the bad ones, and concentrate on the good ones.(\__/)

This is the problem with people today.Originally posted by woohoo View PostSo we should do away with traffic lights, traffic control, speed cameras etc. If we get a pile up with loads of people dying its ok because the drivers where at fault.
No we accept that we need traffic control to enable people to travel safety.
Same if you have thousands of people trying to enter a ground, you manage it properly.
This didnt happen, then people lied to cover their arses or to sell newspapers.
You are in effect saying it is okay to do what you want unless someone phyiscally stops you or puts rules in place to stop you.
Such as saying you need a ticket to get into a football ground maybe?
They knew they needed a ticket - do we really need to employ people to make sure they have a ticket? or can these people not understand that basic rule?
Or maybe they did understand it and they ignored it because they did not like the rule?
You take the police out of the equation and very little changes
You take 20000 people without tickets trying to get into the ground out of the equation ground and 96 people are still alive.Comment

No im not saying that at all. But my comment is pretty basic, I suggest you read it again and try to understand. I'm not able to put it in more basic terms and would just end up repeating myself.Originally posted by original PM View PostThis is the problem with people today.

it was an accident waiting to happen.
The grounds depended on the goodwill and good behavior of the fans to operate.
the fans liked fighting so the pens were screened off.
the fans liked to get in without paying so there were extra people.
the fans didn't want to miss the start of the match.
There were a lot of people in an impossibly small area.
the ground was poorly designed and run
the police were incompetent.
everyone was to blame.
some people should have been sacked and prosecuted.Comment

Liverpool fans would never do anything like that

The article is quoting the turnstile operator and two coppers. Don't think the reporter "dared" to say anything.Originally posted by stek View PostKudos to the reporter for daring to say it...
