There is a great clip on Youtube of FMQ's a few years ago where Ian Gray (Labour) stands up with a big smug look on his face and says "Would the first minister care to enlighten the parliament as to the source of the money for his Oil Fund ?"When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment

We make more out of financial services than oil but that seems not to bother any nationalist.

If there was oil to get we would have went and got it in 2008 when the tulip hit the fan.
Oil is gone, its over and we never really got that much from it in the first place. Scotland has not run a surplus since 1989 even with the oil.Comment

"The British Geology Survey specialist, Howard Johnson, team leader on Continental Margins, stated that: “There is no doubt that there are considerable reserves of oil and gas in the British North Atlantic sector, an extensive Palaeogene Igneous Province is well documented on the conjugate continental margins of NW Europe…..including the British North Atlantic sector. That there is a working petroleum system in at least parts of the UK Atlantic Frontier areas can be demonstrated by finds such as the Benbecula gas discovery in the NE Rockall Basin.”Comment
