You do realise that there is a general election in May 2015? Any English MP who answers on the doorstep they would allow a currency union will not get elected.
They won't answer yes to allowing a CU on the doorstep and that will probably will be as truthful as they can be. It will be down to the negotiating teams to decide. It's not as if MPs discard promises they have made on the doorstep anyway

You should try getting out more and talking to real people. There are plenty of independent school and public school teachers around who could explain the backgrounds of their kids.
Nah not really just get bored of people saying person x is better than person y because they speak with a different accent.

      Actions not accents define people.

Capital Flight: Yes it is; I've moved all my liquid, and near liquid, assets out of scotland (sic) this week.
I know of several others who have done the same. I now only maintain a scottish (sic) bank account to service scottish (sic) commitments.

        Cheerio.

Im sure Scotland can survive £52.36 withdrawl from its banks.

What do you estimate is the total capital flight that Scotland can afford from its banks?

It's more of a case of perception. Sterling is sterling so a flight is meaningless in the near term. If banks start to ring fence cash in RUK accounts then Scottish debt appears to look a bit toxic.
A CU isn't going to happen; in the event of a Yes vote it will be announced by the treasury within a few days as a means of calming the markets and giving clarity to the RUK economy.

                All a bit sh1t really.

Come north young man. You will fit in well in an independent Scotland

Flight within the current UK is entirely possible (but certainly far from inevitable). When savers took their money out of Northern Rock, it was to put it in other UK banks. It is about perception, and the risk is that despite panic being irrational for a group of savers, panicking first can be entirely rational for an individual saver, causing liquidity problems for an otherwise solvent bank.
