        I think it's a bit of a stretch (to put it mildly) to suggest that - IIRC the Conservative Frontbench at the time were all in favour of it as well and there weren't many Scots in that mob. Robin Cook (a Scot) resigned from the Front Bench over it. Let's not get all revisionist about this DA - even though I suspect you are just trying to be "controversial".

                I was p*ssed when I went to university to discover the only people who had some form of regional accent were educated in the state school system. Public schools purposely educate the accent out of people.

                      That is as maybe but when the Scots start whining about wanting to get away from a Westminster government that took them into an "illegal war" I simply wish to point out that it was the Scottish influence that led this.
