All the media are spinning it as leaning towards the no side.Originally posted by eek View PostSupposedly she said " think very carefully about the future" which is definitely a neutral statement.Comment

If this referendum results in a No vote but the 'more powers' that are promised by the 3 main parties are debated then rejected in Westminster or the House of Lords, there will be a clamour for another referendum after the next Scottish Government elections and a lot of the No voters will turn to Yes.Originally posted by d000hg View PostWhat an inept fool Salmond is:
Never mind "let the people make up their mind and we'll respect that", but rather "it's inconceivable anybody would want to vote No". Talk about blinkered.
No that is NOT your opinion, because of course there's not going to be another referendum in the next few years.Comment

You can spin it however you want. But Unix is taking it as pro separation.Originally posted by Batcher View PostAll the media are spinning it as leaning towards the no side.
I will wait and see if Ladbrokes pay out on their 100/1 odds that the Queen campaigns for No before deciding if its not neutral..merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

Are there any stipulations about how soon another referendum CAN be held, legally? IIRC the UK government allowed Scotland to hold the referendum - it wasn't something they could do off their own bat (?) In which case they're not going to keep letting them do it over and over.Originally posted by Batcher View PostIf this referendum results in a No vote but the 'more powers' that are promised by the 3 main parties are debated then rejected in Westminster or the House of Lords, there will be a clamour for another referendum after the next Scottish Government elections and a lot of the No voters will turn to Yes.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Depends on the results. If it's 1% No win then they should have another one soon after.Originally posted by d000hg View PostAre there any stipulations about how soon another referendum CAN be held, legally? It was in the SNP manifesto before the last elections that they would put a referendum bill to the Scottish Parliament. As the SNP got a majority it was seen as a mandate to hold the referendum.Originally posted by d000hg View PostAre there any stipulations about how soon another referendum CAN be held, legally? INAL but they could hold one without the UK government's approval but it wouldn't be a legal decision in that case. If the referendum had resulted in a Yes the pressure would have been on the government to accept it. If they didn't, there would probably have been civil unrest as they would be seen as oppressing the will of the Scottish people.Comment

So what will the choices be?Originally posted by Unix View PostThere will be a Scottish general election in 2016 so stop spouting fear.
If SNP disband there will be Labour or nobody
But as SNP will not disband you will have a choice of one champagne socialist over another.
It is not fear it is fact.
Or the other option is you get the Scottish Tories party being formed , getting into power and voting to go back into the UK and everyone can sweep this ridiculous sham under the carpet and pretend Salmond was just another type of fish.Comment

If 51% isn't seen as a strong enough majority, they should have set that in the terms of the referendum in the first place.Originally posted by Unix View PostDepends on the results.
