Ok or maybe no one with an actual interest in politics will want to run for office in Scotland and so you will just get small town, small minded men who like to march through someone else's neighbourhood banging a drum under the guise of tradition and history but in reality it is just to try and instigate violence and seperatism.

They would still need to get votes to be elected.

The parties give a list of people in order of who they want elected to represent them as part of the PR system. So the person who wins first past the post is elected and then a proportion of the vote is calculated to give them the list MSPs they won on the second choice vote.

So someone in your example would very unlikely get elected unless enough people in their area voted for them to be first past the post. In that case they would be a single MSP unlikely to have influence in the parliament. Independents do have influence when arguing for real issues like Margo MacDonald with her assisted dying bill.

Well I'm no political scientist, but I firmly predict there will never be another referendum after this one. Either it's a yes or a no. There is no way the three main parties will ever be put into this position again.

If the Tories manage to stay in power, coalition or not they will answer the West Lothian question by sending all Scottish MP's back to Scotland. Don't think they are giving Devo Max to Scotland without a re-balancing of power across the UK

For Labour god only knows, they can't send the Scottish MP's home as they won't have a majority, but eventually the Tories or possibly UKIP will get back in....
