Did you see the new XC90? Looks nice, comes complete with a massive iPad in the dashboard.

Unfortunately that's the way things are that's not to say I agree with it, but what makes you thing it'll be any different in iScotland? Most countries are run by the rich or corporations how do you intend to change it all?

If you feel defeated before even ticking a box, what indeed can you do?

Things don't have to be that way.

That is a technicality which Sweden have used to avoid joining the Euro. Its explicitly disallowed for countries who wish to join the Eu nowadays...

My complaint about the whole could Scotland join the EU debate is a simple one. Regardless of what people think the only answer anyone can truthfully give is

we thnk Scotland can / can't but nobody knows what will happen.

and with a Yes campaign focussed on hope its hardly surprising we aren't seeing answers to what look like proper questions.

However as people in Scotland have mentioned recently it seems that the UK news they get is utterly irrelevant to them (today its England football team, schools going back, Boris Island) while most TV politicians seem to be irrelevant.

While I can see no way in which an independent Scotland will be better off, I can see why they feel Scotland should not be part of the UK.

It's the way of the world my friend, unfortunate I know but mainly it's a choice between the lesser of two evils. Even if Scotland becomes independant the same problems will remain surely you realise this?

I'm a firm believe of making mistakes. "I've learnt so much from my mistakes I'm thinking of making a few more" as the saying goes.

Yes problems will exist, but I don't think an indy Scotland will invade other countries illegally, or consider it reasonable to engage mass surveillance of it's population. And of course you'll have politicians taking advantage of the system, but hopefully fewer of them.

Regardless of the outcome Scotland is certain to gain more powers. Even the Tory's have utter devolving control of income tax, which a few years ago they said not a chance in hell.

They forget they will give themselves more problems.

Scottish universities are fearing a brain drain of academics and researchers as lots of research is funded UK wide and done in collaboration with other UK universities.

That collaboration can still exist. It's nonsense to suggest otherwise. I work closely with MTU (München Technical university) myself, and the money comes from many countries, all not within the EU.

The funding in the UK to science as a proportion to GDP is abysmal @ 1.7%

UK science spending to remain 'flat'

And the issue is more complex than many would think. The introduction to tuition fees has been far more destructive to science and engineering in England. Professor Cox discussing an alarming statistic the other day, of the few who did choose to study a science based degree, having taken on the debt of tuition fees, moved abroad. The debt hanging round their neck no longer applies.

We're sending our brightest and best away on a considerable scale all in the name of business. Very sad.

It is not about truth it is about the argument. Smearing the article because it is the Torygraph is a neat way to avoid facing the argument.
