          +1

Aldi & Lidl are getting a greater market share because they have good quality food at cheap prices. If Asda want to price themselves out of the market then fair enough. People aren't daft and will shop around as they have been doing the last few years.

I think small grocery shops selling local produce might spring up again to fill in any gaps. Butchers have seen an increase in business since the horsemeat scandal in supermarkets.

M&S are a joke anyway, losing money hand over fist. If they put prices up much more they will die off in Scotland.

How is it food in Germany is so much cheaper? I notice this every time I travel back to the UK, effing expensive.

                Right.

Levels of stupidity so high on all posters on the other side I can see any of then being anything but sockies.

I am away to start my weekend.

...because sterling is strong against the Euro?
Post a Yes, Sterling *may* collapse then I would imagine your Bratwurst may be a wee bit more pricey.

That's not what I heard. Maybe in Germany you shop in Lidl, and in England you shop in Waitrose.

Because 90% of what you eat, from supermarkets at least, is sourced with ingredients from Belgium, Netherlands and Poland - it's cheaper to source those ingredients in Germany.
