Place your bets - 79% Of Scots Backing Yes

Hard to believe. The highlands / West coast does not surprise me. But Aberdeen? Thought they were quite the no bunch.

William Hill Bookmakers - 79% Of Scots Backing Yes

    79% Of Scots Backing Yes

79%* of all bets in Scotland on the Independence referendum have been for a ‘yes’ vote, according to Britain’s biggest bookmaker. 100% of William Hill punters in Dundee and Motherwell have backed independence although Edinburgh has a 50/50 split.

In London, 75% of all bets have been for a ‘no’ vote including a hefty £600,000 wager (comprising of one £400,000 wager and one £200,000 wager at odds of 1/4 and 1/6), while Belfast and Cardiff are siding with their non-English counterparts. 83% of all votes in the Welsh capital have been for independence while 75% of all bets in the Northern Irish capital have been for the same outcome.

“If the Scottish punters turn out to the voting booths as they have done to the betting shops, then we could well see a ‘yes’ vote when the referendum takes place in September,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

    Scottish Independence betting:

    1/8 no; 9/2 yes

If 79% are backing the Yes campaign, why are the odds so good for a yes vote?

How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

One of the Devs I work with is a Scot, he says it'll be like a messy divorce if the Yes camp win, arguing over the CDs and which weekends you get to see the kids.

Personally I think it'll be like the Darien Disaster, we'll end up bailing them out in 20/30 years or so.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

I'd gladly contribute to the £100bn to piss the cunits off!

£100bn? We can borrow that. The Scots won't be able to!

Actually you can't borrow it. But you can print it.

£100bn, I think you might inherit that debt if we don't get our currency union. Either way your screwed.
