If there was a Scottish broadcaster it would simply buy the BBC shows which would be charged per head of population, nowt would change really.

The amount of compete tulipe that comes out of this referendum debate is beyond comprehension.

But I think the point is that an 'independent' Scotland would want to watch home grown tele...

And with a reduced licence pool and therefore less money coming in the quality would be bobbins so people would continue to watch foriegn (e.g. English) tele.

This making an even bigger mockery of Scottish independance than many of the other issue already being raised.

You mean the SBS wouldn't have the funds to pay the likes of Jonathan Ross £18m a year?

The quality of some Scottish produced shows on the BBC are very good but there's always the hundreds of channels on SKY/Virgin Media/BT to watch as well.

Good, I only watch breakfast news. Happy to not pay for the rest of it.

BBC needs split up anyway, 10 channels and 7 radio stations is too much. Could easily half the license fee.
