I worked in Dublin and could watch BBC programmes. I've watched BBC programmes whilst on holiday in Northern France. I'm sure there will be a way to watch them in an Independent Scotland.
I'm sure they'll soon kick off once they find iPlayer has been blocked.

I think we're referring to how Mr Salmond thinks of himself rather than the actual reality of the situation.

But I think the point is that an 'independent' Scotland would want to watch home grown tele...
And with a reduced licence pool and therefore less money coming in the quality would be bobbins so people would continue to watch foriegn (e.g. English) tele.
This making an even bigger mockery of Scottish independance than many of the other issue already being raised.

The signals travel further over water though, people from Glasgow used to go to the west coast and Largs in particular for the day to watch the FA cup.
I don't think Eastenders would reach far into the great interior once the transmitters were switched off.
