I think the Northern Irish and Welsh regiments display their flags on their uniforms too. Maybe the English don't because the St George's cross makes them look like crusaders?

• Tributes paid to young woman found dead in Inverness
• Edinburgh Zoo introduces Velu, the first chimpanzee to be successfully reared in Scotland in 15 years

& of course the obligatory dig at the English

• Islamic militants post video of US journalist's beheading by man speaking with English accent

The rest seems to be rehashed world / UK news already covered by the BBC
