I was gonna buy an 1199 not long ago. Then though I should really get the 899 as the 1199 would be wasted on the road. Considered the hp4.
Then I thought I should just get a car like a civilised person.

Sorry to slightly hijack this thread, but I wonder whether anyone here who has owned a Porsche or similar sports car, can tell me, from personal experience, whether it helps picking up girls?

I'm thinking of buying one for this reason, but am unsure whether it would be sufficiently effective in this respect?

I have never owned a Porsche. But I have often been out as a passenger in a mates 911. I can honestly say its the only car I have ever been in where the girls would see you drive into the pub car park and come immediately out to say hello and start to chat us two up. We were fighting them off with tulipty sticks.

A cheap car performance car? Boxster is not. Running costs are high if you have it serviced at the main dealer.

A car where ladies at work, supermarket, pub, etc might spark up conversation, yes, definately. Even if you are pig ugly (they are interested in your personality ).

It has the bonus of being a good sports car, so why the hell not?

You can always trade it in after one summer if it turns out to be a bad decision, and get most of your money back. They are always in demand in the right colour.

Cayenne, rip the back seats out, paint out the rear side windows. Then you have a 5.0 litre V8 Turbo 4x4 van.

I suspect you're right.
Still, my intended defence against that is to not marry them in the first place.

They will just happen to have an accident and get pregnant.

Then even if you don't marry them they will have you for 18 years especially if you aren't a complete d*ck to your off-spring.

You are better of getting something that attracts a woman with taste i.e. who someone who is well off/from a well off background.
