Mixed thoughts.
I happen to be very good with technology; when I was younger I was definitely the sort to 'mess about' and pull things apart and put them together and developed a very good talent (separate from 'skill' as that's more of an academic thing) of how the things worked. You can seriously tell the difference in the workplace between people who are IT passionate as opposed to 'skilled up' in IT. Most people making recruitment decisions of course aren't bothered.
That said, IT is just that, a hobby, and I don't really do the more fun aspects of it for work. There are a million other things I'd rather do.
