It's only relevant because it's a similar situation, one candidate, one client, two agencies. A bit like your car park story.

    Sorry, I didn't realise I shouldn't join in.

It would make at least three. He could have originally applied more than once simultaneously.

It's the same role that is the key point here. But it was a nice story. Thanks.

Fair enough. That's put me in my place.

Think of it as an initiation rite - being given a hard time by the resident curmudgeon.

Off topic (but only slightly), who keeps a log of roles applied for, CVs sent, phone calls with pimps, etc so they can avoid getting into a similar situation as the OP?

I don't keep a log but I certainly don't delete all the mails, CV's that I send to easy to look back and get the details.

Yep. Let the client do your dirty work for you. They will cut a deal with the agencies.

Don't speak to either of the agencies without confirmation from the client to tell you who they are going to deal with. When you know, completely blank the other agency because they will just give you a load of bluff and bluster to try and scare you off.

While you area talking with the client, find out what the rate is so the agency doesn't start dicking you around on that too.

Anything verbal is not worth the paper it's written on.

Even if I agree to something I demand a email and if it's not on an email then it doesn't count.

I keep emails and CVs but that's because I don't store everything locally.

They'll probably want you to go through the other agency, these no poach agreements will exist for the duration of the assignment.

Actually I see the bank is at fault here, they had your CV obviously turned it down at the time and are now changing their minds, for whatever reason, sounds like a cock up.

Don't worry about it just go to the interview, the agency realises you're not at fault here, and I doubt they'll make any difficulties.
                    I'm alright Jack
