    Contract rate surveys?

Have you ever seen a proper survey of contractor rates, or perhaps an index of some sort to compare with permie rates?

I think any such index would show a drop of contract rate compared to permie rates in the last 2-3 years. Of course permie rates have dropped too, for new recruiting.

No need to be so condescending please, thank you. That link shows permie pay.

Don't worry - the link is for jobs in IT.

It's intended for people with highly trained technical skills, which they have devoloped to such a supreme standard that they are able to click on the "Contract IT Jobs" tab.

          Now I see it.

However they source this data from IT recruitment websites. More like offer, rather than bid price.

There seems a factor of between 105 and 110 connecting perm salary and daily rate.

Would you say the 105-110 factor is stable, or is there a critical point beyond which permies move to contracting and vice versa?

itjobswatch is pretty accurate i think but UK only.

is there anything for international? i.e. interested in looking at comparing europe's top end (switzerland/norway) with asia (tokyo, singa, hk).

                    cheers.
