      even anonymously about general market rates? I think you've got the wrong end of the stick here.

      rates in the uk are public knowledge anyway (check any job board) - it's abroad which i was interested in. just a ballpark... is it the same as uk like america tends to be or a lot more/less?

        I think any such index would show a drop of contract rate compared to permie rates in the last 2-3 years. Of course permie rates have dropped too, for new recruiting.

          Lots of contract roles aren't advertised or only put on a job board with a fecked up rate, once the role has been secured by someone. Agents work in a cut throat market and so unless they have a client who is very fussy will often put jobs on boards when the role is just about to be secured by one of their candidates who they have approached in other ways. My last 3 agency acquired contracts weren't advertised on the job boards when they were available.

          Rates in the US are varied. Remember the US is a massive country. Plus unless you are an US citizen don't bother trying.
