Long-time lurker here; just started posting.
Apologies if this has been suggested before, but why not start our own Recruitment Agency? We all acknowledge that:
If a group of us owned a recruitment agency, operating in the same way as any other agency to make a profit, we would get some of that margin back as dividends.
The agency would have the added benefit / marketing angle that the people it places are high-quality and even-more highly motivated than usual not to p!ss around as they co-own the agency.
It could even turn out to be a good (and tax-efficient) investment, as we could obviously invest capital in the agency with gross (pre-tax) cash.
Any constructive thoughts welcomed....

- client companies like to deal with agencies rather than direct, mainly for legislative reasons.
- pimps are (contractually) on the side of the client company, not the contractor
- pimps make more margin than they should much of the time
