Absolutely this.

I once had a situation where I hadn't even left the car park of the client's offices before the pimp was phoning me asking me how I thought the interview had gone. I said I thought it had gone okay, and the pimp proceeded to tell me all about how much the client liked me, too.

So, in the time it had taken me to say goodbye, hand in my visitor's pass at reception, walk to my car in the car park, and drive about 30 feet towards the exit, the pimp had phoned the client and got their feedback and then phoned me.

I started that gig the very next day.

Reminds me of the good old days. I had an interview but the client waited half an hour to give the OK to the agent. In the meantime another agent phoned me, two minute phone interview and I was accepted to the alternative contract.

Actually lots of CVs for the same kind of roles are very similar plus there are advert templates around so it's very easy for an agent to generate an ad with the correct technologies in them.

I did catch an agent using my CV once but that's because what I was involved in on that particular project was niche.

I've found another agency advertising it, so I've applied with them. I didn't get as far as being told the client on the previous one, so if they get back it's their hard luck.

I can live with being rejected by the clients even when they are wrong but when you can't get past some graduate who doesn't even understand the buzzwords it winds me up.

I saw the job advertised by a different agency, submitted my CV, not a nibble. Called two days later, pimp was unavailable but would call me back as soon as they were free.

Either it was fishing or dead in the water.

another added to my database. At least I'm heading towards adding working with 1TB+ databases to my CV. I might develop a CV based on my dealings with agencies. It seems to have more relevance than my technical skills at the moment.

Perhaps we should launch a DOS attack on one selected time wasting pimp each week. List all the required skills under the heading of would like to learn and expected rate of £250 then explain you meant per hour.

One of these days I might have to actually search for a contract.

Last time I wanted a few weeks off before I started searching, but the current agent started calling 3 days into my holiday and didn't stop until I'd agreed to an interview. Persistent bugger.

I guess I'm just fortunate, it seems experienced BAs are a bit thin on the ground...
