    Pimp Won't Talk

I saw a job posting that looked right up my street, have all the 'nice to have' bits and the 'any experience of' bits, a rock solid match, so I bunged my CV off to the agency, followed up with a phone call the next morning and the pimp said I'll just check through your CV and call you right back ... still waiting Normally I'd pick one of the other agencies and go through them, but for once no-one else is advertising it.

should hope another agency starts advertising it, try and track a contact down, or just give up?

    1. Fake ad
    2. Role not actually live yet
Give up and move on if the ad is real and you are a good match they will ring you in the future.

      WSS +1

The Agent's behaviour has a definite hint of "fish" about it.

      Throw it back move on.

        WHEN APPLYING FOR ROLES
If role is legit and if pimp thinks you're a good match your phone/email/doorbell will be ringing off trying to get hold of you...

WHEN WAITING TO HEAR OUTCOME FROM INTERVIEW
If successful your phone/email/doorbell will be ringing off trying to get hold of you...

        Think that covers everything.
        Permietractor (probably)

          3) They got someone else better.

Standard behaviour. If they can smell income they're interested. If you're out of the picture, they wont waste they're time.

Rude/unprofessional? Probably. But 'most' act like this.

It is annoying when you see a perfect role like this but who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

            Absolutely this.

I once had a situation where I hadn't even left the car park of the client's offices before the pimp was phoning me asking me how I thought the interview had gone. I said I thought it had gone okay, and the pimp proceeded to tell me all about how much the client liked me, too.

So, in the time it had taken me to say goodbye, hand in my visitor's pass at reception, walk to my car in the car park, and drive about 30 feet towards the exit, the pimp had phoned the client and got their feedback and then phoned me.

I started that gig the very next day.

You gave up after one phone call? You should be phoning every hour. If that does not work turn up at the offices.

              Or are you a quitter?

If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.

I've found another agency advertising it, so I've applied with them. I didn't get as far as being told the client on the previous one, so if they get back it's their hard luck.

I can live with being rejected by the clients even when they are wrong but when you can't get past some graduate who doesn't even understand the buzzwords it winds me up.
