Seriously, do you think I've been walking onto client sites for the last 30 years and just saying "buy product XYZ" and then invoicing them for £500k and walking away? I wish!

I've been delivering solutions all that time. And quite happily without ITIL.

And, as I quoted, I've the top books from the worlds best SOA experts sat on my hard drive. I've just searched them again for ITIL - and, once again, there is not a single mention of it in any of them. I guess the worlds best experts are all "wrong" too.

To add to the extensive list of clients I already provided, let me add Accenture, Logica and Steria. I've contracted for all of them as an Architect - and all without ITIL.

You are making yourself look like a fool here. Why would an expert on SOA mention ITIL when ITIL has nothing to do with software architecture which would be the purpose of its book.

Talking about ITIL in a book on software architecture would be like talking about ESB interfaces in a book about ITIL....

I did and Cojak asked you what framework you were using to ensure you meet the business requirements suggesting eTom.

You replied with UltraESB with is definitely not a framework for ensuring you meet business requirements. So yes someone is a fool here....

OK, so I've worked for BT, Lafarge, MOD, MoJ, Welsh Government, Cabinet Office, Lafarge, BSkyB, UBS... I could go on. Plus Accenture, PwC, Atos and Capita, among other service integrators.

Yep, personally I'm going for the one who answered what framework (process, development.....) are you using with the name of an Enterprise Service Bus software project....
