jobserve vs LinkedIn vs ??

    I tired other boards as well, but JS seems to get me the best response rate. Today, I had two calls both fishing for contacts. I told him that I reported to the global PMO, a guy who was a contractor and he is gone now. To the other I told, in order to get my references see my LinkedIn profile. I have my contacts hidden though.

    Not much seem to be going on, but the same 50 contract descriptions seem to be per-mutated for fishing purposes. Today a job showed up, since I checked 5 minutes before and after it was there, it must have been posted just then. So, I called the guy and he tells me, people are already short listed, but he will contact me if they do not get in. He started fishing right after that.

    Things are slow, it is my experience, but JS is at least not a black hole.
    My mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way.

      Indeed but they don't know if that person is directly related to contractors. I am sure they do this as well but if you find a contractor there must be a decision maker somewhere near by. Picking any old random person on linked in is just shooting in the dark.

        I tend to find most agents say they are contacting me as a result of seeing my details on Jobsite. Im finding more agents say they read my profile on LinkedIn.

        I cant remember the last time an agent mentioned Jobswerve when phoning me about roles.

        I normally apply for roles through Jobswerve purely because its search options seem to be the best. Jobsite's search option is tulipe imo while Technojobs always seem to be days old despite setting the criteria to 'Today.'

          For Interim roles on LI you need to get involved in groups, there are a lot of interim groups where gigs are specifically advertised. I'm seeing a lot of my contacts advertising contracts as well.

          The only way to get noticed on LI is to participate in group discussions, post articles, but in posting the articles try and instigate discussion. Also posting these articles to groups as well gets you noticed.

          My list also has no S3 companies.

          Changing your gig title always generates a huge amount of interest especially if you have notifications on your profile where your network sees any small changes.

          Though nothing beats good old fashioned face to face networking and then building those contacts up on LI.

            I'd say you were fortunate then. A number of agents who got me past roles are no longer in the business. Even those that havent and I've spoken to in the past seem nothing more than tele sales operatives who know frack all about job specs.

            My list has no S3 companies.

              So what if an agent sifts through your contacts to find a manager? Managers are bigboys and girls and more than capable of telling an impudent little pup to fsck off if they are out of line.

              The next time you get sat on a bench you might be happy that I let an agent sniff a lead or two for you to take advantage of.
