Yes there are a lot of overlaps, pretty sure Technojobs does a site scrape of a number of job sites.Originally posted by hgllgh View PostDoes technojobs list the same vacancies as JS?Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

Jobserve only holds adverts from the last 7 days, technojobs are from the last 28 days.Originally posted by Scrag Meister View PostYes there are a lot of overlaps, pretty sure Technojobs does a site scrape of a number of job sites.Comment

They can see recommendations. They can also see your connections as 2nd line (see the People you may know section of LinkedIn) even if you do not allow your connections to be viewed if they search on members in any companies you have worked for.Originally posted by kingcook View Poste.g. Can they see the companies that I follow (which are usually previous clients or clients that I know of that use my skill)? Can they see my recommendations (which are by previous clients). [too busy to check right now]Comment

What is the problem with recruiters viewing your connections? After all your connections are on LinkedIn anyway.Comment

I assume they will the spam them in the hope that one of them is a decision maker that takes contractors on?Originally posted by SandyD View PostWhat is the problem with recruiters viewing your connections? Or they'll claim some false recommendation from me, like "Hi Bob, Sleazy Agent here, I was talking to Bunk the other day and he said I should get in touch with you". I wouldn't put anything past them.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI assume they will the spam them in the hope that one of them is a decision maker that takes contractors on?Comment

..
I was asking this question a while ago, started a new contract in Dec last and thought I would give it a test this time. I only disabled my Jobserve profile and left all the rest inc linked in as if I were still available. Within a week, the enquiries stopped and all I get from all the others is just regular spam. A few contacts still from link in but as usual they are all irrelevant to the skill set I have posted there, just agents hoping I will refer their role for free.
I got my latest role through JS (as have all the others for 25+ years) and it was engineering/property domain so they haven't changed fully into financials just yet.
Think I will stick with JS

As I said those people will be on LinkedIn anyway, and agents can do an advanced search for any decision maker in any company easily without having to go through your connections.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI assume they will the spam them in the hope that one of them is a decision maker that takes contractors on?Comment
