What's your favourite techniques for finding new contracts

    Hi all,

I would like to gather suggestions on best ways to find a new contract apart from the usual jobsites.

How to find direct with employer contracts with no need for an agency?

Best way to get your CV circulating around?

Tips and tricks to push your CV in the front of the queue?

And any other techniques which have worked for you and you dont mind sharing

    Thanks in advance

My fav way is to answer the phone to an agent offers me an interview at a gig 10 mins from home that is paying 10% more than the last one.

    Have a look at this.

Don't forget to use the search on the site either. Plenty of people asking how to get gigs recently so a lot of what your asking has been discussed so might get other tips there that might not be repeated in this thread.

I am on my second separate contract (ignoring renewals).

The first time I got a phone call from an agent and I got the gig.

I am not aware of any 'tricks' as such. Be awesome at what you do and your name will get around.

Ok here goes... I will now reveal all my secrets that have so far been able to land me good contracts with good rates. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don't mind giving these secrets away because I believe in the knowledge being spread around. My techniques are award winning, have been highly regarded in the national press, and been practiced by thousands upon thousands of contractors worldwide.

If your web browser says "website unavailable", just keep retrying. It's probably busy due to all the other high earners using it to make a shed load of cash
