I seem to be getting more and more calls from agents who are using the other rival sites boards - i'm registered on reed.co.uk, Monster, Jobsite and CWjobs. Before most of my agent calls were from jobserve when I asked them.

I updated my Jobserve profile (it was completly messed up like the OP) a few weeks ago so agents must be moving to use other boards as they don't like the new system.

Just come across this myself. Either Jobserve give the option to delete the profile or they'll be out of business soon. The profile is completely WRONG!

Anyone know how to get rid of this? It just seems to be a copy of my CV but edited by some computer program, and is incorrect. Can't see a link to remove it.

          What a load of crap.
They introduced this a week or so again. Its crap! I sent them feedback to say WTF but just got some nonsense about it being an improvement.

You can delete this 'profile' but if you upload a cv, this then becomes your profile by default. As far as Im aware, if you want to make any changes to the profile, this doesnt ripple through to your 'loaded' JS cv. You have to change that manually so there is scope for these to get out of step.

If you delete the profile because you've made changes to your cv and reload it to JS, you have to go through the process of completing work locations and job skills afresh.

          Its totally, totally wank.

I noticed this a few weeks ago and I have now deleted my CV completely off Jobserve and now only have the profile, i can't see any reason to have it there anymore if they now use this rubbish instead.

The thing that really annoys me is before it would take me less than a minute to log in and upload my new CV now I have to go in and aswell as updating my CV for any new jobs/info, I have to now remember to do it on this Profile aswell. It is utter rubbish.

I know one day I'm going to upload my CV again without thinking and it will overwrite my profile and I will have to spend ages as i did before going through it correcting the many many errors it had.

Just had a gander at this and my profile is tulip too,

2 years of my primary skill, I think not!!!

and others are totally wrong, or never done.

                How misleading is this!!!

Makes you think... is this profile thing something agents have been viewing all along in the background? i.e. agents have been getting bad matches on their desks.

It would have been nice if they'd bothered to tell us these things... I only looked based on this thread and it's wildly inaccurate! It had Project Management as a "Basic" skill with 1 year of experience rather than it being my core skill since the 1990s.

I suppose it's just a natural extension of the drive of most agencies replacing experienced agents who can understand a CV to having unskilled 18 year olds who just use search engines. This will probably make their jobs easier but it does rely on the contractor getting his skill terms right and the agent getting his search query right.

Ah well... I suppose it just makes the divide even greater between those who can use their contacts properly and those who rely on agencies for everything.

I think people are complaining that they have to edit or create a new profile thing rather than use their own CV which they have created themselves after, which I hope, putting a lot of thought into, making each one individual and stand out rather than auto generated carbon copy of everyone elses
