If you want it searchable, put it in the format they want... is your CV more about the information it contains or the pretty layout

Sure it's a PITA but far easier to just get on and fix it than make a rod for your own back.

Interestingly, my jobserve account hasn't got the profile.docx on it. It is still showing my own (albeit out of date) CV.

If you add a new CV, it will create you one.

By default it is in the format they want, you dont have a choice. However, as part of this import process, their profile picks out skillsets and skills but will commonly say you have only 12 months of this or less than a year of that because it picks this info up from your job history. It doesnt seem to aggregate these periods though so you have to manually edit each and every one every time you load a new cv and make this you 'new' profile.

If you upload a cv in Word or any other format, the JS searchable format is theirs. You cannot upload your Word format cv and have that searchable as you could previously.

Im surprised but maybe they are rolling it out in stages? Info I got is everyone signed up will only have the JS option.

Mine had changed without me uploading a new cv.

I can only presume that if you apply for a role and attach a cv from your pc \ lappie, it then creates the profile from this application action.

That's very possible. I hadn't even logged in to Jobserve for over two years until today.

Yep, so best bet is to go on there and delete all the old CV's that are attached to your profile, delete your profile and make a new one from your latest CV

Er, which is what I've said in this thread.

However, update your cv for those other jobsites and applications and unless you want JS to be out of step, you have to either edit the JS profile separately or, delete, reload and manually re set all your preferred work locations, preferred roles and key skills.

                  In a word, its wank.

                    LOL!

Just downloaded my JS 'profile' through both the pdf and .docx formats. 7 and 6 pages each!

My Word version is 3 pages. Far too much line spacing, large headers and page breaks etc.

Wonder what agents think of it?

going through my profile now, it's quite random in places and describes someone I don't quite recognise. Not happy that this is being used to promote my skills.
