As i have recently been reminded, don't stop looking/interviewing until the ink is dry on a contract.

Ink being dry is no help, the project can still get canned.

I'd wait until at least the first invoice is paid, even then I keep my eye on the market at all times just in case....

(no I don't jump mid contract for a better deal, I just keep my eyes open in case the current gig gets canned...)

Yes - you have a legal right to continue searching for other gigs.

Remember you still have the right do to this even if you're waiting for paperwork to be signed.

Hi All,

I received a confirmation of assignment with rate, start date and end date of the contract. Agency said they cannot release the contract unless they complete ref checks and Disclosure Scotland.All this took 15days. Then they came back and said PM ran out of cost codes. He no longer has budget for my role. He is trying to get it from other projects..etc..etc.. bottom line is - the offer stands null and void

Is there any compensation I can claim, from the agency or the employer, in this case?
