Bristol Rails contract of the month

The contract was asymmetrical: they could ditch you during the period, but you could not give them notice. -
I particularly hate this agent: he wanted me to contact him urgently earlier this week. When I phoned back, it wasn't even for a contract nor a permie role: he had a client who was sounding out getting some Rails permies in the future and he wanted to know what the least someone like me would take to go perm.Originally posted by eek View PostYou miss the fact the agent is also a grade a muppet. If you take it and don't opt out they are liable for the money.Comment

This isn't uncommon though. We all have some kind of notice period in our contract which can be negated by the MOO which is in there and in a worst case you get binned and they refuse to pay notice which in most cases you have to swallow on move on.Originally posted by Cenobite View PostThe contract was asymmetrical: they could ditch you during the period, but you could not give them notice.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

I won't argue with you it's just that the rate has to reflect the risk my company is taking and at £120/day it doesn't match.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostThis isn't uncommon though. The person who is wanting the work done really should read thisOriginally posted by northernladuk View PostCan't argue with that!
especially this bit:
By the sound of what is going on here the person will have iteration 1 created, it will fail and there will be nothing there to let iteration 2... to be made. The process of iteration is far easier if you, the person with the idea, can actually code it and that’s what ultimately makes a startup turn into a successful business: iterating to get to product/market fit.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

About right for a regular developer. Obviously well low for contracting, but I don't think it's looking for a Bob because I'm not aware they even learn Ruby in India due to lack of demand.Originally posted by SunnyInHades View Post28k seems low for perm !Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
