    Hi Lukemg,

Would you like to test an application which assists you in the above?

I need a second opinion, in addition to my own.

No personal details required and no obligation. Im a contractor who, like all IT people, looks for a way to 'automate' processes which are repetitive or cumbersome.

I have applied this logic to the management of Agencies and contract postings.

You use a similar model to contract search as I do. You may find the features interesting.

Please pm if you want to try a more automated method. I can provide you with a URL and a login. I am interested in your critique.

I am surprised by threads like this to be honest.

When people are out of work (or coming to the end of a contract) - don't they do what I do and just go on jobserve? Surely you are stuck with the agent you apply with?

Some time ago I had dealings with MSB International - avoid!

The agent had lined up an interview, client definitely interested, rang me to suggest a time and said that he would confirm with the client and let me know, since the interview was going to be in two days.

            Now been 9 months - I guess the time I suggested (9.30am) wasn't convenient!

I have added them to the 'Jobjock' - 'standard' filter.

If you sign up and use JJ then you need only check the tickbox and you wont see their posts anymore.

              Enjoy!

If you use the CUK search, you will find that some contracts are clearly being advertised by numerous agencies. I had one the other day who thought they were the clients sole agent until I pointed out a rival agency had also advertised the contract. I'm sure some of them just steal each others write-ups !

Many contracts are being handled by multiple agencies.

It is quite possible to make an educated quess that if (say) three new contracts turn up in the space of two days, with a similar or identical skill set, same location and start date, that they are quite possibly duplicates of the same role, just posted by different agencies used by the client.

So you can choose to reply to the instance of the job posted by a non S3, or even more than one non S3. When you get a call back, find out the client and eliminate any remaining duplication that way, when you get other calls for that role.

                      badagencies.com

A new forum called badagencies.com has just been launched. It's about IT contracting but also about other types of agencies.
The initial purpose of the forum is to share bad experiences with agencies and to offer people more guidance about which agencies to use and which not, do's and don'ts, what agencies actually do with your CV and details(You will be amazed) and other bad practice.
A first number of posts is needed to get the forum going in at least a few sections.

Go to http://www.badagencies.com register for free and share your views.
