I know this isn't the question but... why can't you work with a broken thumb? Is driving the problem?

I presume these interviews are a long way from home? Bit extreme losing work just because of a thumb?

Football is a girls game anyway, play rubgy or something a bit more physical.

Why would you want to claim SSP? If there's funds in your company account then just take out a divi or am I missing something?

                  1. How long do the doctors expect you to be in plaster?
                  2. If the time is short as some joints need to be kept mobile even if they are in plaster for a short time - can you go to the interviews by train and taxis?

There is no point missing out on a contract as SSP is not exactly a large amount.

And the information on SSP is here - Statutory Sick Pay : Directgov - Money, tax and benefits You need to let your accountant know that you want to claim it.
