I know this isn't the question but... why can't you work with a broken thumb? Is driving the problem?Originally posted by TOSH1 View PostI have managed to break my thumb, My last contract finished at the end of June and I have two interviews lined up this week which I m proberbly going to have to cancel. I presume these interviews are a long way from home? Bit extreme losing work just because of a thumb?Originally posted by Old Greg View PostI know this isn't the question but... why can't you work with a broken thumb? Is driving the problem?

Why would you want to claim SSP? If there's funds in your company account then just take out a divi or am I missing something?Blood in your pooComment

1. How long do the doctors expect you to be in plaster?Originally posted by TOSH1 View PostIts my left hand and i am right handed
2. If the time is short as some joints need to be kept mobile even if they are in plaster for a short time - can you go to the interviews by train and taxis?
There is no point missing out on a contract as SSP is not exactly a large amount.
And the information on SSP is here - Statutory Sick Pay : Directgov - Money, tax and benefits You need to let your accountant know that you want to claim it."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
